In honor of our recent trip to Hawai'i. Knitted tube top and knitted/crocheted leaf-skirt. =)

Check out more photos of her here (essentially my sewing/creativity blog). If I'm not allowed to link to outside blogs, please let me know and I'll remove it immediately.

I knit much more than I crochet, but I let out a cheer when I saw a TV news article about this lady yesterday.

I'm hopefully going to be trying to teach my sisters how to crochet. Does there exist a website like knittinghelp.com for crochet? It would probably be helpful for them if they have questions and I'm not available. TIA!

I'm planning/hoping to knit some sort of security type blanket thing for my newest baby.  But I can't decide what would be a good yarn choice as far as fiber goes.  I'm trying to choose something from my stash.  I was thinking either a soft wool (if I can find one, I tend to find almost all wolls scratch to an extent, even merino), cotton (Bernat denim style), or microfiber (Lion Brand microspun).  Would any one be a better choice than another?  Any thoughts?

anyone still active here? what do you say we make an attempt to get this party going? :-)

I've been terribly busy the past few months with school and children and all, but I am now on a ten week long summer break and have LOTS of time for knitting and crochet! I've started up a Swedish blog, it seemed relevant since all my knitting schoolmates are Swedish, and I've joined raverly as fishbonette. What's you name on ravelry?

Latest project was a knitted cardigan for my dog Florence, and my first ever stich markers (I'm in love)

After 5 winters in New York State I have to accept the fact that my cheap hats or really old acrylic hats just aren't going to cut it. So I made a double sided Tychus(from Knitty).

To the hat..Collapse )

I was just shopping on Joann's website for the Lion Brand Prayer Shawl book, and discovered sales!! I got a bunch of Vanna's Choice for my ami for $1.99/skein, AND knitting and crochet books are like 20% off. Looks like lots of yarn is discounted. AND there's an online coupon for free shipping for, like, another week or so. Yeah!!

*stocks up*
