My boyfriend has an idea for a project and he wanted to know if I could knit or crochet him some dolls, somewhere in the 3-5 inches range. I think he's thinking something like the Voodoo Babies, only knit or crochetted if possible.

I, however, have no idea how to make my own patterns. I'm a novice in both crafts. I'm trying to search online, but I'm finding mainly doll clothes. I'd prefere free, but it doesn't have to be.

Help!

Edit: Ooo! Like this little guy, only with an available pattern, heh. Oh, and something we might be able to sell.

through the knitting and crocheting groups since I'm too busy to actually hold a needle for very long. What's everyone working on lately? :)

i knit up a wristband and it's too big for me. so my question is, is there a way to safely shrink it? if i try to felt it, will it felt itself together and no longer be a circle? can i wet it and toss it in the dryer for a little while and let it shrink? i'm not sure what's safe. the yarn is a cashmere/merino/wool blend (i no longer have the ball band so i'm not sure of %). please help! i really don't want to rip it all out and start again. it's a quick project but it was my first intarsia type project and i just really don't want to do it again (note to self, next time just do duplicate stitch).

Subject: Stuffed Animal Net?
Security: Public
Anyone have an easy pattern for either knit or crochet a netting to hold stuffed animals on the wall? Like in the corner? I don't know what they are called or where to find them but I've seen them before. I'd like to make one for my nursery so that I can get the stuffed animals off the floor!

TIA!

To go with my niece's Princess Dress, I made her a pair of Knitty's Twinkletoes. I will have to make them again, because evidentally she is big for her age and they didn't fit her, but anywho . . . I will show you them anyways.Collapse )
